Tom Hardy Tuesday
My love for Tom Hardy was born in 2012 when trailers first hit the Web for The Dark Knight Rises and I wanted to know who this guy was playing Bane: the burly, scary, frighteningly attractive villain of the trilogy's last installment. One Google image search led me to this ravishing revelation:
Hardy is 5' 9" and 150 lb of the UK's finest. He is the highly coveted, widely adored mix of rugged, sensitive, vulnerable, edgy, and rebellious all in one effortless package. The ultimate sweet guy with the bad boy exterior. He wears his rocky past in the depth of his eyes and has an understanding for humanity that makes his acting supreme--yet he never loses humility, often calling himself "extremely lucky" even in the midst of starring in two films that are dominating the awards season.While I haven't fan-girl crushed over someone like this since middle school, I've fully embraced the Hardy obsession, through Inception, Legend, and most recently, The Revenant. So, since it's my favorite day of the week and Tom is my favorite person at the moment (we have SO much in common haha), here's some reasons you should be crushing on him too (sadly he's taken, but we can dream, right?).
- He's a creative with non-stop thoughts
"I have a very busy head. I have inside voices that I have learned to contain."2. He's a mama's boy (and goes to Five Guys). Need I say more?
"I'm very sensitive. Because my mum was my primary emotional caregiver growing up, I found myself being pinned into dresses, darting her dresses, choosing her high heels for the evening or what to wear. I'm very much a mommy's boy."3. His craft saved his life, and he didn't want to let his dad down.
"I wanted my dad to be proud of me, and I fell into acting because there wasn't anything else I could do, and in it I found a discipline that I wanted to keep coming back to, that I love and I learn about every day."4. He's not as crazy as his characters make him seem.
"The characters I've played have been mostly violent, and I'm so far from being violent or aggressive. I spend a lot of time watching 'Fireman Sam' with my three-year-old son Louis."5. He understands humanity. 
"Fame and stuff like that is all very cool, but at the end of the day, we're all human beings. Although what I do is incredibly surreal and fun and amazing and I'm really grateful for it, I don't believe my own press release, do you know what I mean?"6. He wants to buy milk just like us! 
"Maybe it's a little ambitious of me to presume that no matter how big the film is, that I can always go down to the shop to buy a pint of milk."7. He's an only child - so basically he and I are the same person lol
"Being an only child, I didn't have any other family but my mom and dad really, since the rest of my family lived quite far away from London."8. His bromance with Leonardo DiCaprio is EVERYTHING as seen here. 
9. HE LOVES DOGS. AND HE DRINKS COKE. WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR???
“I wouldn’t go to class unless Max was allowed in,” recalls Tom. “My old drama teacher said, ‘I remember when you used to walk into class with your dog in one hand and a can of Coke in the other.’ Max was my support unit, it’s like I had a focus; I had an identity and higher self-esteem because something relied on me and loved me constantly. Then I felt important. I can’t stand those kind that fight their dogs, but I wonder how many sleep with their dogs under the covers at night?
